Aha of today: paying tech debt in big chunks is painful. Having experienced that pain today, I believe that it is better to do it more often and in smaller increments. It ads a bit of project management load, but it’s worth it #SmallIncrements
Aha of today: Whatever the situation, when sharing to others that were not present, share only your experience, how you felt, or what you thought about whatever has happened. Don’t share anything that the others did or said. #PsychologicalSafety
Aha of today: are you having thoughts similar to “he/she doesn’t know what she’s doing”, “I know better” etc.? Go talk to this person (hint: keep being curious by assuming that they know something that you don’t). #AgileConversations
Aha of today: there is a website that lists open-source, privacy-oriented software: https://www.privacyguides.org/ I’ve switched my password manager and notes app after reading their reviews #open-source #privacy
Aha of today: To learn efficiently, you need to manage cognitive load (working memory effort). Cognitive load is made out of intrinsic, extraneous, and germane load. Try to reduce extraneous load. https://youtu.be/q2tZHsvz3_U #CognitiveLoad
Aha: I get little value from “personal development” books that don’t have any extra supporting material (only videos, in-person workshops, practice groups, etc.). I find it hard to adopt new worldviews just with the support of a book. #EffectiveLearning
Aha of today: I get energized when I have honest & authentic dialogue, and a day without it drains me immensely. #RealDialogue
Aha of today: “let’s agree to disagree”, “that’s your opinion”, etc. are signs that someone is withdrawing from the dialogue. What other signs of withdrawal do you know (verbal or non-verbal)?
Aha of today: usually, I ask myself at the beginning of the day, “what would make my life wonderful?”. Today the answer was: to make the life of my parents wonderful as much as possible today.
Aha of today: the honesty and realness in the way of talking of a person that’s close to ending their contract are so, so refreshing. What would you bring up with your colleagues if this was your last week in the company? #SelfReflection
